Hey All,
Just wanted to give a report of Gideon's and my trip to Monte Cristo today. It was a wee overcast which made it a wee cool-had to wear my jacket, which I usually am short-sleevin' it.
The road was great all around-wide and dry for Gideon to run around in circles. I made sure to bring him 2 tennis balls-which he lost one to the river gravity force, and the other he pretty much chewed to a pulp eventually.
After Giddy and I had a fine lunch, shazzam! A group of my-aged hikers (60 y.o.+totaling about 11 peeps) rumbled upon the little mining town of MC.
I thought I had been ganged up on by the Mountaineers, but it turns out these were a very kind and fun loving group from Bellingham-so I eased up from my fright! They were great to have around.
A shout out to Susan, who took my number. Please text me-and give my number to the other lady-folk who might be interested. I am looking for a fellow Sherpa to assist me in my trail duties of keeping Gideon in-line with his hiking obsession. LOL.
Then upon my return trip I happened upon two hiker dudettes and had a great convo with them. It was fun talking with you both.
A shout out to Terra(a fellow Snohomish Panther graduate-GO SHS!) and Michelle(from Jairesey-thats, Jersey)...Hope we can get a hike in someday.
Terra, so sorry Gideon pushed you over. He has done that to little children before-not full grown adults. You are his first. Hope you-my beer-in-hand drinkin' hikin' gals sails were settin' high with as you tarried on your way.
So now for a quick Q&A: Does anyone know the status of the residents of the MC Community? Does it still exist after the 2015 river renovation? Many moons ago it was a hub of some activity with peeps in those miner-like houses. Wondering if it still is property??? It would be cool to renovate some of those old miner houses for historical value.
