This trail is a short 45 minute hike from my home in Puyallup. I've hiked Mashel Falls a couple of times before, but never from the Bud Blanchart Trail. The trailhead is on the edge of Eatonville, the lot was empty when we arrived mid-morning on a Thursday. We did pass a few walkers on the path and just a few fellow hikers on the Mashel Falls trail. This is a beautiful, satisfying place. We started by wandering around the upper falls, then back down the the middle falls where we had lunch. We didn't have time to hike out to the lower falls, but look forward to returning. There is potential to have many different hikes here between the Bud Blanchart Trail and the Pack Forest Trail. The multiple falls were all stunning. Weekday, even on a beautiful June day, was not too crowded. Hiking boots and trekking poles are a good idea.
