Hike Rating: 6. Beautiful hike through beautiful forrest. We hiked the trail as described, and the distance and elevation gain were longer than expected (10+ miles; 1,000+ ft elevation). When we got to the turn-around campground, the clouds obscured our view of Mount Baker. The funniest part of the day was the pit toilet at the campground. There was no building! Just a white porcelain toilet sitting out amongst the trees. (See photo.) I used it and was a bit self conscious, but no one was around. I was glad to have it available. The bugs were a bit annoying. My bad-should have carried bug spray. Bottom-line- it was a long drive to the trailhead and a bit disappointing.
