Overall, I'd say the trail is in great shape.  There are a number of blowdowns  (5 or so) on the trail, 2 of which I saw causing people problems.  On those troublesome 2, the trail has started to erode, likely from folks slipping while trying to go around the trees.  That said, the areas are not dangerous, and I wouldn't let it stop from doing the hike.  Absolutely beautiful views from the summit.
