We started at the Harvey Manning trailhead and did a Shangri-La - Protector - Cougar Pass - Klondike - Lost Beagle loop. (3.7 miles, shorter than the listed hike). Trail conditions were excellent, with leaves starting to cover the trail. Easy, flat hiking except a bit of a climb on Lost Beagle at the end. Very nice picnic spot about halfway along the Bypass Trail on the north side (looks like a large campsite). Blackberries ripe at first crossing of Clay Pit Road. This is a lovely hike, especially if you like alder trees. Plenty of parking on Labor Day.
