Mirror Lake via the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), Mirror and Cottonwood Lakes — Monday, Sep. 11, 2023

Took my best friend on a hike up to Mirror Lake by way of the PCT. I've always love hiking on the PCT and meeting people that are doing that long trek. Hiking into Mirror Lake was great, the only steep part was hiking down to Mirror Lake and then hiking back up but it wasn't to bad. Plus Silver and Tinkham peaks are real close and so very pretty. When we were down by Mirror Lake we decided to take the 1/2 mile trek over to Cottonwood Lake. Then coming back from the lakes we took the turn off PCT to hike down to Twin Lake and come back by way of the Mount Catherine trail to our car. I don't think I would do the hike down to Twin Lake again, coming down the trail was very steep and tiring. Plus Twin lake wasn't very impressive after the other two lakes. We hiked over 8 miles and saw very few people on these trails today. Plus with some cloud cover today, it didn't get too hot either.
