A midweek hike to celebrate my friend got a job offer.
We arrived at 9 am. The parking lot was closed because there was some tree cutting happening so they told us to park next to the parking lot. The first part of trail was a bummer because there was too much noise coming from all the machinery. We were worried it was going to be like that all the time but we eventually got some silence.
The hike overall felt pretty good. It's rocky but manageable, didn't make us feel super tired (highly recommend trekking poles, your knees will thank you).
There were some parts where we weren't sure which was the official trail to follow and felt confusing at times.
The lake is beautiful and the sound of silence was breathtaking. We saw some ducks, they were cool.
