It was a strange feeling to be hiking in fall colors, mushrooms popping out of the ground everywhere, moss covered trees shining in the sunshine, coho spawning in the creek, and enjoying an 80 degree day in the woods. My son and I were there to take a “woods wander” and see what we could see. It was really fun to slow down and watch the light play through the trees and poke around the trail edges for mushrooms. The salmon in the stream was icing on the adventure cake!
