My husband and I hike Dry Creek Trail at this time every year, and it's fascinating to see how different it is each year. Unfortunately, we were unable to hike this year because the trail was completely flooded early on (see photo). We probably could have safely passed but the water was flowing rapidly and was at least a foot deep, taller than our boots. We opted to keep our feet dry on this chilly day. If you try to find a way around the flooded trail, please be respectful of private property that surrounds this section of the trail. Since we couldn't do the trail, we went to the bridge area (that you cross over in order to park; parking is available on both sides) and walked around a bit. Then we headed to nearby Staircase Rapids (no dogs allowed) where the river was flowing ferociously! We saw a ton of "waterfalls" coming off the mountain on the drive in/out.
