Washington Trails Association volunteers spent two days on the Lime Kiln Trail, repairing tread that has become eroded over time, and ensuring that this trail remains accessible and enjoyable to the residents of our region!
Over the course of Saturday and Sunday nearly twenty volunteers gave their time and their enthusiasm—including showing up Saturday morning in the pouring rain—to do the following:
🥾 yards of trail repaired: 150
⛏️ drains cleared/built: 6
🪓 logs removed from trail: 4
🪚 logs cut: 5
🪨 water bar built: 1 x 6 ft.
🕳️ holes filled: 2 x 2 cu. ft.
We worked mostly between 1.5 and 2.0 miles from the trailhead but there's still lots more to do! If you'd like to see WTA volunteers back at the Lime Kiln Trail again please contact Snohomish County Parks and let them know how much you appreciate the partnership being built between our two, great organizations!
WTA is an organization that is powered by members, and if you're reading this trip report then I know that you value the resources they provide. So if you value what you get from WTA I hope that you're a member already, and if you're not then I really encourage you to become one! It's fast, it's easy, and the return on your investment is priceless.
The trails we hike on—including this one—were likely built and maintained by WTA volunteers. Stepping beyond being a member, WTA always needs more people to put their boots on the ground with a shovel (or grub hoe, or Pulaski, or loppers) in their hand, to help maintain the places and experiences we love. No experience is necessary and fun is guaranteed!
