Arrived at the trailhead mid-day, to a mostly empty parking lot. Parts of the lot were covered in ice, but my little sedan made it in just fine. The road to the parking lot is clear and okay to drive on.
As others have reported there are two dodgy sections of the trail covered in thick ice, on a slope. Spikes are a must until it melts. Most people without them turned around at that point. There were a couple of folks on their way up who managed to skirt around the ice without spikes, so it’s doable but for safety sake it’s best to bring them.
Not many people at the top of this normally packed summit today. Enjoyed the views as long as I could before the biting cold wind got the best of me and I started heading back for the car.
