Quick trip report on Tronsen Meadows (& trail network)
very easy to get to on 97 (spots for 3-4 cars directly at TH as per prior trip report). otherwise blewett pass is prob closest. i have a snow park pass, but not sure if that little spot requires it
The area is a nice network of snow-covered foresty roads/trails that are well marked - every intersection has a map and signage. you can get turned around, but never very far, and it's nice to just meander around. foggy & cloudy the day i went, so no views but got it quiet after 30' going away from the road. lots of hare tracks and some large animal(s) - a cat i suspect; i'd venture to say mountain lion based on the gait & paw size, but i'm no tracker. anyway - it left me a fresh set of tracks and pee right across one of the paths i had previously taken, so i meandered a different direction after that as i was alone. good luck out there, hares!
the snow wasnt that deep - 3-4" fresh on some deeper crusty/harder layer. i wore snowshoes & did see post holes from prior hikers. skiers looked like they had fun from their tracks
overall, very pleasant, low risk, well signed, nice day out. did about 5.5 miles in 2.75h wandering on the various loops of trails. cool to see all the animal tracks. the forest was pretty but not "old-growth" impressive. would be a nice place for new snowshoer/skier to be out in the woods. wenatchee crest trail has nicer views but more people traffic
