The deck on the bridge
over Bare Creek has collasped 2 miles short of the trailhead. The road is closed at that point. So an extra 4 miles walk in the hot sun! The trail itself is the worst mess I've ever seen. Over grown so one can't see the tread which is washed out, with rocks and roots exposed. Not a trip for the faint of heart or weak of ankle. My faithful dog Katie and I made it to the Saddle above Anderson Lake in 3.5 hours but gave up any attempt on Dog Mountain due to the heat and extra travel time on the trail and road.
