PCT south from Breitenbush Lake to Park Butte — Friday, Jul. 23, 2004

Hiked south 3.5 miles (and up 1,500') on the PCT from Breitenbush Lake to Park Butte, on the ridge overlooking Jeff Park. Camped in two small tent rings on the 7,018' summit. Carried water up from the last snowmelt pond. Fabulous view of Mt Jefferson, with fine sunset and sunrise. Bugs were still a bit bothersome. The snow on the north slope of the ridge still completely covers the PCT, but it was easy to go up and down.
