Trip Report

Spectacle Lake, Pete Lake — Wednesday, Sep. 19, 2007

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
I just returned from a 1 night hike starting at Snoqualmie Pass ending at Cooper Lake. Friday was quite brisk with hard blowing mist especially along the shale trail below Chikamin. Lots of blueberries ( huckleberries ? ) to Gravel Lake. A great thing about hiking now is lack of bugs and people. No bugs and 2 people past Gravel. Dropping over into the Park Lakes basin picked me up at least 5 degrees and the mist lifted. I was alone at Spectacle Lake. This was my 1st time on this route and I got somewhat lost at Spectacle on the way out with the myriad of trails but eventually kept looking up and got out. The trail from Pete Lake to Cooper was quite dusty and but pleasant and especially as my wife was waiting for me and we ate lunch at the Brick in Roslyn - a great cheesburger and fries and a nice way to end a very pretty trip. The trail was fine all the way.
