On Friday, May 16, I hiked in to the other side of Little Hump (2 1/2 miles) with a WTA Backcountry Response Team to do a little trail maintenance for 3 days. We had a wonderful time camping next to the roaring Duckabush River and absolutely beautiful, though a little hot, weather. As usual, Janice made the work fun and relaxing. We did some nice general trail maintenance, drainage work, constructed a nice piece of turnpike, and Don and Mark sawed out some blowdown. Trail is in nice shape to the top of Big Hump but there are several large pieces of blowdown between the top and 5 Mile Camp. My thanks to WTA for making these kinds of fun trips possible and to everyone in the group for being such nice company and hard workers. See you on the trail!
