Got out to the teannaway a little late and decided to do ingalls lake instead of Navaho Peak... I'm glad we did. The trail on the way up was uneventful, except what we would later learn was my partner losing some of my more expensive gear without knowing it. Oh well, if anyone finds a bundled up north face jacket with rain pants in it let me know, I'll put something on the lost & found.
Anyway, the trail climbs moderately until you get to the first ridge, where you cross over and down into a valley. Then it's up into the lake basin, with great views of Mount Stuart along the way. The lake is awesome, but after eating lunch we were unsatified with the views. We decided to go up to the peak for better ones.
The guidebook I had just said to go up the gully from the lake, so that's what we did. There is some path here, but it's easy to lose going up, and we didn't follow it down the same way. Just keep going up, and we made it to the saddle between the two Ingalls Peaks. I knew the north was a rock climb and didn't want to die, so we went to the south peak. It had great views of the teannaway, Mount Stuart, and other stuff to the west and south. Signed the trail register and quickly departed, as this is where we realized my stuff was missing.
The trip down was quick, we sidetracked a little down into the valley bypassing the lake entirely and catching the trail down there. Overall a good day, car-to-car was something like 7 hours.
