This hiker-only route is not an official trail It is a user-built route, and so is a rough and rugged climb. The way is often overgrown and the road to access the trailhead requires a high-clearance car.
The lake itself is sub-alpine and the vegetation around it is fragile, so visitors are asked to Leave No Trace when spending time in this area. Pack out anything you packed in (including waste), and use existing campsites, do not make new ones).
From August 1 well into the fall hunters frequent the area and visitors should wear bright colored clothing. The lake is stocked with fis by the Washington Department of Fish and wildlife.
