When we arrived at the parking lot around 8:00 a.m., there were only a few spots left. There are several potholes entering and exiting the lot, but they are manageable.

It was clear out, and the trail was in great condition! There are a couple of muddy spots, but other than that, there are no major obstacles or snow. We had poles, which helped us navigate some rocky steps. Some of the wildflowers were blooming for the first half-mile of the trail.

We reached the peak around 10 a.m., so we were above the clouds in the sun, and Mt. Rainier was in full view. By the time we got there, a lot of people were resting at the top. It seemed like the perfect day to go!

Hiked up the main trail on Wed beautiful day, from top headed east to connect with the Teneriffe Connector trail had a visible boot path for first .8 mile then intermittent snow & dirt.  Some snow at the top of Si in the shaded areas only.  No need for traction devices but I liked having the poles, very pleasant, secluded trail compared to the main even though it is a little longer. Took slight detour to Teneriffe Falls which was well worth the added 900' elevation gain to the top, lots of water coming down.

We got to the trailhead about 8:30, with the lot about a third full. My friend didn't have a Discover Pass, and struggled a bit to buy one on the website via phone. But we did it!
We hit snow at 2700 feet, and we eventually put on our microspikes. One friend didn't have any, and she slid a bit coming down. I was happy to have them. The snow was beautiful, but slush and ice were melting from the trees above us. Getting hit with a tiny pellet of ice stings!
We stopped at the first view point to have a quick lunch. Grey jays gave my hand a whack as they tried to steal a bite of my bagel. Mt Si has got the boldest of these little bandits, by far. There wasn't much view, and though the snowy landscape was gorgeous, snow was falling, and we were cold and damp from our walk through the woods.
The crowds were pretty low today, and the dogs mostly leashed and well behaved.

Chilly hike on moody Si with my chill crew today! We started at 10am and the parking lot was almost full! Trail is muddy in places and snow only in the last 3/4th mile. Didn't really put on spikes as it was packed but encountered a lot of unprepared hikers who were slipping on their way back. We put on spikes at the top as it helped on the way down. Lots of fresh snow at the top, little windy and quite chilly made it a picturesque winter wonderland. We didn't venture further up, took a couple pics at the view point and made it back down in a couple hours. 8.5 mi RT and 3100 ft gain.

It was a beautiful day! Snow was consistent today above 2,800' feet, with drizzle the beginning of the day turning to snow at elevation. No views, but lots of fresh snow on the trail and trees.

Going up Mt Si (from the Little Si trailhead) the old trail was in good shape. About 3-4" new snow at the top, no old snow. I was the first to take the connector trail early afternoon from Si to Teneriffe, and there was 4-6" new snow on top of packed trail for most of that stretch, with only a couple of deeper drifts. Never much more than 6" on top of old snow all the way up Teneriffe. As long as I stayed on the trail there was no postholing or other challenges, the new snow was soft and easy to walk on, not slippery. The only place I used traction was coming down from the very tope of Teneriffe for the first few hundred yards.

Coming down the Teneriffe trail things were in good shape, also the Talus trail was good condition.
