On a beautiful, clear day this is a great snowshoe for scenery and the experience of hiking in some good, dry snow. There is a bit of work involved in that there are a lot of gains and losses in some steep short climbs on the way, both coming and going. The last mile or so back to the trailhead has a steady gain up. There are cornices along the north side of the ridge trail to avoid, but there is room along the ridge to hike and avoid being near them.
The road up to the Hurricaine Ridge parking lot was littered with small rocks at mid-morning but in the afternoon they had been removed. The road was mostly dry the whole way.
