We arrived around 7:20am to an empty parking lot. Traveling from West of Lyle, the drive was in the rain until Bingen. It seemed inevitable we'd be hiking in the rain but instead drove into dry weather. The temps were perfect with a light breeze.
We did a figure-eight loop, heading counter-clockwise as recommended. There's a great variety of wildflowers, some of which are at peak while others are just beginning and still others will be coming along in the weeks ahead.
We saw 8 people + 4 dogs. There were 7 cars in the parking lot when we finished around 10:30am. The work on the trail by WTA was evident. Thanks to those who did the work. Given the trail topography, it seems like challenging work.
