It sounds like the start to a joke, but it's just another great week in WTA trip reports.
Trip reports serve a lot of practical functions: they give a snapshot of trail and road conditions, they show the march of the seasonal features like snow, flower bloom times or wildlife. They help keep hikers safe and inform WTA staff and land managers around the state.
And because hikers are incredible people full of warmth, generosity and humor, they also bring a lot of joy.
Bean Curd the Hiking Pig
WTA Development Director Kate Neville took a weekend hike at Chuckanut Mountain, where she also met Bean Curd, who was, of course, leashed.
T-Rex Summits St. Helens
Trip reporter ejvincent tackled Mount St. Helens on the Worm Flows Route a little more than a week ago. And so did Tyrannosaurus rex, apparently.
Darth Thaddeus, trip reporter
Hot on the news that the Silver Falls area in the Entiat is open, trip reporter Darth Thaddeus took a walk in the woods. Perhaps he was contemplating why Mace Windu never granted him the rank of Jedi Master. Evil lord or not, though, it was cool of him to file a trip report.
