Mount Angeles — Saturday, Jul. 6, 2013

Olympic Peninsula > Northern Coast

Trail is great, clear and easily hiked. Saw some mountain goat fur snagged on wildflowers in meadows. Lots of flowers in bloom. View spectacular. Boot trail up to Mt. Angeles clear, some snow coverage still, so missed an essential turn. Went too far to the left and ended up scrambling up a less accessible route than the one more frequently used. Still managed to get up onto the rocky peak and had lunch with a nice view to the northwest. Downclimbing OK, probably would have been better on more utilized route. A beautiful, quick dayhike offering gorgeous views of peninsula and straits. No water, but what we carried was enough. Bugs buzzing - bring spray to avoid being bitten.
