Mount Baker from the beginning of the ridge walk
This was our first time hiking this trail and it was awesome! Perfectly clear day yielded views of beautiful snow covered peaks in all directions from the ridge. Pretty sure we could see as far as Bellingham and the sound! The trail was clear to about halfway up to the ridge, then snow & ice patches, then fully snow covered, but well packed down and easy to navigate. We were very thankful for our traction devices as the trail was extremely slippery in places, but lots of folks did the hike without. We walked the ridge about half-way to the end, to the 6100ft knoll; after that, it looked like it would be tough going. You're in deep snow on the ridge, but it's doable if you stick to the tracks others have already made.
