Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Strolling the Kendall Katwalk
This trail offers a fair amount of shade (in the morning) so it was a good choice on a day like today where temps approached 90 degrees. There were maybe 15 cars in the parking lot, but the trail never felt crowded. And it isn't very steep, so the climb was a peaceful one, taking me 2 hrs 10 mins to reach the Katwalk. I continued another 15 minutes through a lot of snow before I stopped for lunch. The return trip down from the Katwalk took me 2 hrs. On the way back down through the forest, there were inch worms hanging everywhere! I was constantly wrapping myself up in their threads - and constantly brushing off my face and arms. They were a bit of a nuisance, but really more of a curiosity. I guess they only come out in the afternoon? They weren't on the trail in the morning.
