We, a group of 6, visited Dixie peak as one part of our mount Teneriffe-Dixie peak-mount SI traverse. We climbed up mount Teneriffe from the bootpath starting from Teneriffe falls. Once left mount Teneriffe peak, we descended to the new trail. At a saddle, we turned right to walked up a ridge toward Dixie Peak instead of turning left to Mount Teneriffe parking log or Mount SI. Seems no one was there recently, we had to break the trail. We carried snowshoes, but didn't use them. The snow was rather compacted, but we still had a lot of postholings especially around areas close to trees due to tree wells. We arrived at a narrow ridge and not quick sure if it was the summit or not, but the view opened up and we rested a while before we headed back because that ridge was very dangerous to cross over and we didn't see any summit higher than that one, either. We also were close to our turnaround time. But the view was gorgeous there.
