We drove over from Seattle and checked out Marymere Falls before exploring downtown Port Angeles. I'd read that there might be little patches of snow and ice, but we didn't encounter anything. The trail was really flat just until you approach the various viewpoints for the falls, which include some steep steps, but it's not very difficult. We did the whole trail in under an hour. Would suggest packing a lunch and eating on the dock or picnic benches at Lake Crescent. The water was super clear and it was a beautiful backdrop for a quick meal before our hike.
Great for kids and beginners. No pets, unfortunately, since it's part of the national park.
