Granite Creek Trail to Granite Lakes — Sunday, Mar. 5, 2017

We hiked granite lakes today starting from the shortcut trailhead. The snow was less deeper than last time we went to Thompson point, but still as beautiful as before. The snowshoe track was very deep and we didn't really need to put snowshoes on. We put snowshoes on at the junction with Thompson lake trail. The view was gorgeous with unexpected sunny day. We only met one other party during the whole day. It was a bit surprising that so few people hiked this beautiful and safe winter trail even it is so close to the popular mailbox peak trail.
