Gear Lending Library

Workshop graduates who attend a gear orientation can access the lending libraries in Seattle and Pierce County.
Educators and youth program facilitators can borrow gear to outfit their outdoor trips. At both locations, fleece jackets, rain pants, layers, boots and backpacks are available to outfit their students or youth. Libraries are also stocked with gear to support overnight trips like tents, stoves, sleeping bags and sleeping pads.
WTA focuses resources on our priority audience with availability to the gear library. Learn more about our priority audience in our FAQ. The gear library is first-come, first-served for gear requests with the following:
We can accept requests two months out for our priority audience organizations who serve youth who attend schools where 40 percent or more of the students qualify for free or reduced price lunch and/or schools that have a student body with at least 40 percent students of color.
For general partners who do not serve this audience, submit a gear request when you are ready. Expect a confirmation one month before your outing. If you don’t hear from us then or if you have any questions prior, please send us an email for more clarification.
