What's in it for me?
On a Volunteer Vacation, WTA provides you with a week of fine cooking, fun folks and a meaningful project - led by one of our skilled crew leaders. You'll get do some important trail work during the day - from repairing tread and improving drainage to building turnpike, puncheon and bridges, or even logging-out fallen trees with a crosscut saw. In camp, you will share chores with fellow volunteers, like cooking, washing dishes and pumping water. But even after all of that there will be plenty of time left over to sleep, eat and relax – and to enjoy your surroundings.
Please read more about the format of our trips, including the menu and procedures for submitting payment and the Medical and Backcountry Experience Form, in our Volunteer Vacation FAQ. In 2014, trip fees for WTA members are $195 for the first trip and $145 for each additional trip during the season. Non-members pay $235, which includes a one-year WTA membership. There will be a $30 cancellation fee for cancellations more than 30 days prior, and no refund for cancellations less than 30 days prior to the trip. Due to the popularity of our trips, please submit your payment and application within two weeks of joining a trip. If a trip is full and you would like to be added to a waitlist, please call us at 206.625.1367 or email email@example.com. We are usually able to place people on the waitlist.
