Hiking Cathedral Driveway

This short trail descends from the Chewuch Trailhead to connect with the much longer Chewuch Trail. On the way, you'll cross Windy Creek and get some views of the Chewuch River drainage and nearby peaks.

The Chewuch Trailhead is also the trailhead to the Windy Creek Trail, which heads north along Windy Creek instead of heading west toward the Chewuch Trail.

Getting There

Head east on Highway 20. As you reach Okanogan, turn right to stay on Highway 20. At the junction, turn left onto US-97. Continue for about 30 miles, then turn left onto 4th Street in Tonasket. At the junction, turn right onto Highway 7.

In about 5 miles, continue straight onto Loomis-Oroville Road. In 11.5 miles, turn right to stay on Loomis-Oroville Road. In 2 miles, turn left onto Toats Coulee Road. In just under 6 miles, take a slight right at the Y junction to stay on Toats Coulee Road. In 4.5 miles, take a sharp right to continue on Toats Coulee Road. In about 6.5 miles, the road will become NF-39. 3.6 miles after that, continue straight onto NF-300. You will hit the trailhead in about 3 miles.
