This route at Catherine Creek takes hikers past a natural arch and into the higher country around the meadows at Catherine Creek.
From the main parking area, head up towards the Natural Arch. Take a trail that goes up and over past the arch, and then continues up the hillside through the open meadows with stellar views of Mount Hood.
Towards the top of the meadow, the trail heads into a grove of oak trees and heads east. Traverse this way for roughly a mile before arriving at a trail that turns you back down towards the river. This route heads back down towards the water, again with gorgeous views of the Columbia River Gorge, Mount Hood, and up close, wildflowers!
