Natural features making this park interesting all year-round include two creeks, many unique plants including wildflowers in the spring and summer with gorgeous fall foliage. In the fall, salmon spawn in the creek easily viewed from the pedestrian bridge.
Scenic paths wander through open green meadow shaded by towering Douglas-fir, maple, Oregon ash, hedges of Nootka rose, thimbleberry, dogwood, spirea and oakleaf hydrangea. At the southwest end of the park, dirt-trail access to Issaquah creek features a small beach perfect for a dip in the creek on sunny summer days. Cross a pedestrian bridge over one of the creeks by the meadow. The natural setting provides habitat for observing salmon, deer, bobcat, racoon and various species of birds.
The trail is best-suited for those seeking a leisurely walk, a short trail run or walking their leashed dog. It's a great trail for kids. Access to the trail is available from several locations along the outside perimeter of the park. A large, barn-style picnic shelter is near the meadow. A children’s climbing wall is in the play area near the entrance to the park.
