Fivemile Lake (though the lake itself seems to be named "Fivemile Lake," the park is named "Five Mile Lake Park") is a residential lake, but this small park provides a natural oasis and public access to the water on the east side of the lake.
From the parking lot there is a wide packed dirt path heading north or south or directly toward the lake. If you want to take the ¾ mile loop, head south toward the forest grove of fir trees, and it will curve around toward the lake, pass by a public dock, continue along the lake shore to a sandy swimming beach and continue north around ball fields and back to the parking lot. South of the swimming beach is a wetland that is frequented by water birds.
There are a couple of possible small add-ons to the loop route: You can walk in the open forest grove south of the parking lot. There are no trails, but there are a few picnic tables. There is also a small forested knoll between the parking lot and the lake, which has many approaches. The approach from the north side of the knoll has wooden stairs and a hand railing.
In addition to the fishing dock (the lake is stocked with bass and rainbow trout) and the swimming beach, the park has many amenities, including a playground, picnic tables, lakeside benches, barbecues, tennis courts, a baseball diamond, grass fields and a restroom with running water.
