WTA is a nonprofit that needs you

We’re just as excited as you to get the summer hiking season started. We're psyched our website and work for trails help you get outside.

But we're a nonprofit run on donations from regular people. If everyone who visited this website this holiday weekend donated $9/month, it would fully fund our work for the next 2 years. Of course, time spent outdoors is priceless, but every donation large or small helps us support those experiences for everyone.

Please take 2 minutes to chip in $9.

This is a paved trail that stretches for 21 miles between eastern Puyallup and the White River in the town of Buckley.

Along the way it parallels the Carbon River for a stretch just east of Orting. This is probably the most scenic stretch as it passes through farms and forests and offers views of Mount Rainier. There's a good chance you will also see eagles around the islands in the middle of the river.

The trail continues east to the town of Buckley where it ends at the shore of the White River. There are plans to connect this section of trail with the Enumclaw Trail which picks up on the opposite shore and heads into the town of Enumclaw.

This trail is popular with cyclists, hikers, and horseback riders, and there are several trailheads depending on the stretch you would like to travel.

Wheelchair Accessibility

The paved section of the Foothills Trail include a 15 mile section between Meeker and South Prairie and 2 miles near Buckley.
