WTA is a nonprofit that depends on donations from hikers like you

To help fund resources like this hiking guide you're on right now, we're working to raise $150,000 on #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving. If everyone who visited this site this weekend gave just $5, we would hit our fundraising goal. A donation of any size helps us create the resources you depend on.

Please take 2 minutes to chip in $5.

Hiking Frog Holler Forest

Park along the shoulder of Wax Orchard Road and walk along a short stretch of forest road which ends at an informational kiosk. This marks the beginning of the trail network. There are a variety of short trail segments that wind through this park, so a map will be helpful in keeping track of all the turns (find one on the King County Parks website).

A partnership between King County Parks and the Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust made the acquisition of this public land possible, and they continue adding new acreage to the park.

These trails are open to hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders, so be sure to follow proper trail etiquette when it comes to yielding to your fellow trail users. And please be mindful of park boundaries as this area is bordered by private land.

Getting There

From the Tahlequah Ferry Dock, drive straight north on the Vashon Highway for about 2 miles, then take a slight left onto Wax Orchard Road SW. Go for another mile, and then look for shoulder parking on the right (it will be right after passing SW 261st Place).
