The road to the trailhead and the trail around the pond are snow-free.

We wanted to take Gold Creek Road to Lake Lillian/Twin Lakes, but found a barricade about 2 miles down the road. We turned around and headed to Gold Creek Pond. I had no idea this little hike was even up there! We took a side trip up the Gold Creek trail which shoots off from Gold Creek Pond, but came back and finished up the sweet loop around the pond. There was patchy snow on the path, but it wasn't slippery or hard to cross.

Wife and I wanted a less strenuous hike today. We searched here and found Gold Creek Pond. It was a very nice day for an early stroll around the lake. A little cool (47 degrees) but was not bad because the sun was shining. The trail is in very good condition, but for those who are less mobile we did notice some spots in the blacktop where roots have lifted it a bit. Not bad just be careful. The pond is really nice and the view of the mountains surrounding the pond made the place more scenic. The flowers are just about all spent for the summer now. I imagine they where amazing just a few weeks ago. This would be a great walk for those with a younger family.

I couldn't believe the bang-for-the-buck this trail gave when I first found it a year or so ago. A super easy paved path all the way around the pond/lake with amazing views of the pond and surrounding mountain ranges all around. My wife has taken it with her walker before. But accessible features or not, it's a great little jaunt for anyone! And it's just off I-90... Oh, and turn left at the first junction as that's the loop around the pond and the left goes to the picnic area and immediate views and access to the pond. You'll return back to this point if you go all the way around. Also, if in Spring/Fall and the temperature is low, the path to the right (east shaded side) can have some pretty slick frost on it.

Hiked this loop pushing my grandma in a wheelchair. About 3/4 of the way around we noticed a bear swimming towards us from across the pond. It turned and scrambled out of the water when I yelled at it, no problem. But it was a little frightening given the wheelchair situation. Overall, this is one of the best wheelchair-accessible hikes I've done with my grandma in WA. And it's easy to tag it on to a trip to the new, relatively accessible Snoqualmie Falls overlook.
