There is also access from Umtanum Road (gravelled)coming from the north. The trailhead is four miles from the start of the pavement if you are coming from the Umtanum Road.
The trailhead is a gravel pull out alongside the road. There is a kiosk with sign near the top saying "Hardy Canyon". No facilities.
