In summer, visitors can drive to the pass on the Old Blewett Pass Highway, where you can see the site of an old restaurant and a 1930s rope-tow ski lift. Some other artifacts may remain, but as always, please leave these for others to enjoy. It's also worth noting for summer drivers that the road is now a Forest Service road, and is maintained as any Forest Service road, meaning: Don't let the pavement fool you. It is no longer a highway maintained by the highway department. Occasionally, you'll encounter rockfall and downed trees.
In winter, this same roadbed provides a lovely walk up from the highway just across from the Swauk Campground Sno-Park. It's possible to park here, then cross the road and head up the old road.
Whenever you visit, be aware that just before arriving at the old pass, the roadbed traverses private property. Please be aware of this and stay on the right-of-way (the road) as you approach the pass.
