Hiking Parkland Prairie

This neighborhood park has a short loop trail that takes visitors through a prairie ecosystem brimming with interesting plants.

Prairie ecosystems are hard to come by, so this is a special patch of public land just south of the town of Parkland. Thanks to the efforts of volunteers and stewards, this park has undergone several phases of ecological restoration and improvements, including planting a Garry Oak grove and installing an ADA accessible trail.

This gravel trail loops around the perimeter of the park, through grasslands and clumps of trees; there are 15 unique native species of grass and flowers represented here.
