Located off Highway 20 between Anacortes and Burlington, this network of trails abuts Higgins Airport.
One-half mile up the road is a parking lot on the left. These are wide gravel trails perfect for jogging, biking, walking and berry picking. There is a total of about 10 miles of trait. Since they intersect and loop around each other, it is possible to create any length walk.
For kids, there is a really nice wetland section with a interpretive trail childrens story, told one sign at a time along the trail. There are also sign posts at every intersection so you can get your bearings.
While the lot often has half a dozen cars or more on a busy day, visitors can spread out in the network so it can seem uncrowded.
The trails are open from dawn to dusk, and please respect the neighboring businesses, including the airport, by staying on the designated trails. While running, walking and biking are permitted, horses and motorized users are prohibited.
