This gentle trail is an alternate way to reach Saddle Rock, instead of the main trail southeast of Saddle Rock. The Saddle Rock Traverse trail is accessed by meandering through the Jacobson Preserve which is northwest of Saddle Rock.
Once you reach the Saddle Rock Traverse, the trail is well-maintained and relatively gentle, with canyon, city and river vistas, and plenty of spring wildflowers and birds.
Mileage listed with this hike description does not include the portion that is within the Jacobson Preserve, which can vary depending on the route chosen.
