Hiking Ted Olson Nature Preserve Trail

This nature preserve in the northeast corner of Bainbridge Island offers three different trails for visitors. The main trail is a 0.3-mile loop that circles the preserve. The other two trails branch off to connect to Winther Road in the north (0.1 mile) and Kallgren Road in the East (0.2 mile). The main parking area and trailhead is located off of Madison Ave. on the western edge of the park.

This preserve is open to hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bikers. Dogs are allowed on leash.

Getting There

From the Bainbridge Island ferry dock, head north on WA-305 for 2.2 miles. Turn right onto N Madison Ave. NE. and go for 1.2 miles before turning right into a signed parking area.

Take Transit

Kitsap Transit route 94 stops at the intersection of Madison Ave. and Idel Weiss Ln., which is about 500 feet from the trailhead.
