Hiking Silver Falls State Park

Located in Central Oregon, this delightful park plays hosts to The Trail of Ten Falls, an extremely popular trail that makes for a great day's diversion for those hoping to venture deeper into Oregon.

The Trail of Ten Falls is a designated National Recreation Trail. As such, it's a beautifully sculpted route that weaves above, below, behind and around ten fantastic waterfalls over the course of an 8-mile loop hike with less than 1000 feet of cumulative elevation gain though with the rolling up-and-down terrain the elevation gain will be more.

Five of the waterfalls are more than 100 feet tall and one can walk behind four of the falls. There are several connecting trails which allow you to make shorter loops, but the full loop is doable for most hikers, and it makes a delightful day hike.

WTA Pro Tip: An Oregon State Parks Pass is required to visit Silver Falls State Park. You can pay for a day pass at the kiosk near the entrance to the park.
