The 275.8-acre Trautman Ranch Conservation Area encompasses meadows and open woodland over rolling terrain. It is sandwiched in the middle of Riverside State Park, and managed by an agreement between Spokane County and the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission.

Getting There
The best place to access the trailhead is via the Carlson trailhead along West Carlson Road.
From Spokane, head north on WA 291 for about 6 miles. Turn left onto W Charles Road/Route 1 and cross the Spokane River. Just across the bridge, take the second left onto W Carlson Road. Continue for about 0.5 mile; the trailhead will be on your right.
