Franklin Falls, Franklin Falls - Winter — Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

Had a fun day post holing it through the snow 😊 the falls were beautiful and raging today, although I wish I came a much earlier day where there was more snow and icicles but I didn’t have snowshoes the time I wanted to go. Still awesome, just not winter wonderlandy.

The snow leading to the trail head was solid but a little slushy due to it raining once I got there so there was a some post holing up to my knee and some. Once you get to the trail head the snow is compacted perfectly, so my micro spikes were actually useful at this part. The micro spikes also helped with my descent to the falls so I wouldn’t slide down. Seeing these awesome falls definitely made my hike worth my super drenched jeans.

I was on I-90 East and took exit 47 Asahel/Denny. Turned left going on the overpass then turned right on NF 9034 road. If you’re coming from I-90 West just take the exit and turn right then another immediate right. Drove down all the way to the entrance to NF 5800 road, this was the farthest you could go anyways, and finally parked my car near the entrance. Hope this helps you.

Have fun hiking!
