Arrived mid-morning and the lot was about 2/3 full, but the rotation of hikers seemed often. A few water-filled potholes to avoid between street access and lot, but not an issue. Honey bucket was good/stocked and light (due to building type)
Trail has a steep incline to start. A big tree fall recently that you have to climb over in sections-not difficult. Snow and slick slush made trail challenging(more going down than up). Extra traction footwear suggested. One on our group had 2 hiking poles and no traction and did fine. Another was from Germany and used her good balance to ski-slide down areas in boots (w/o extra traction).
Lakes were amazing! Due to temps and Who-knows-what, the water had waves of frozen rings(see pictures).

Those frozen concentric rings are interesting, I wonder what caused this? It looks like someone threw a rock in the middle and then the rings froze
