Puget Sound and Islands > San Juan Islands

What a lovely park!
I did 3 hikes in a single day while camped here and my garmin said I did 10 miles.

1. Sunrise hike on the closed gate road (clockwise) to watch the sunrise from burrows channel viewpoint. (Deer eyes watching me from the dark forest) lots of morning walkers out after the sun came up!
2. Hiked the trail around the park - along the water and through the forest. The red earth, rocks, madrona trees and water views were absolutely lovely. Many of the trails seem to branch and meet back up so I checked my Gaia app at several points to make sure I was staying on the trail. Very few people on the trails.
3. Sunset hike (counter clockwise) along the road, checking out view points, enjoying the evening light coming through the tall trees. Plenty of people coming and going from the viewpoint before sunset.
