Ruff! This trail was a lovely surprise. Beautiful views and the wildflowers were in bloom. They are just my height too so I could truly admire them :)
Two things though: (1) The wind was crazy! I mean I know this was a ridge hike but I have NEVER experienced wind like this - literally thought I was going to get blown off the mountain. Not sure if it's always like this, as I'm a first timer, but just a heads up this is not the hike to throw caution to the wind (ba dum bump) (2) Maman didn't bring poles but she definitely wished she had. Not only for the steepness, but it's a very unstable trail so you can slip and slide along those tumbling rocks.
Definitely worth it though! Short, sweet, and stunning views of the canyon and beyond. One car in the lot when we arrived at 1pm and seven when we finished up two hours later.
Happy hiking!

LOL on the wind! I had a similar experience on my first trip here. I swear I was going to be blown off! I learned my lesson to check the wind forecast for the Yakima Valley region. My next experience was much better. All of my energy went into climbing instead of balancing against the wind. :-)
