Took advantage of this beautiful weather and did a single day push up to dip top gap and explored the area.
Just a few notes I would like to share. The first part of the trail is relatively flat and long. Felt really good to travel on. The hike past Marmot up to Jade was probably one of my least favorite parts of this trip. Plenty of roots and boulders get in your way.
The hike from Jade to Dip Top Gap is relatively straightforward. There was quite a bit of rock fall above the glacial remanent.
I was surprised at how icy the melting glacier was. It was bare bullet proof ice and my microspikes did not work well on it. I went straight up as it is the fastest way. But be prepared for very icy conditions. Honestly crampons would work better. But that is probably overkill. You can avoid the ice by staying to the left. But be careful. There has been quite a bit of rock fall recently.
It was a long day. This weather won’t hold much longer!
